Dr. Timothy Clare is a dedicated and caring Chiropractic Physician, who established ProHealth & Wellness Chiropractic in March of 1995 and recently became part of Disc Centers of America.
Dr. Clare received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Connecticut at Storrs, majoring in Biology, concentrating in Molecular Cell Biology and Biochemistry. He was the president of his class with Magna Cum Laude honors. He is a lifetime member inducted into Who’s Who, and was voted Chiropractor of the Year 2000 from the Masters.
Dr. Clare has long recognized the need to continually improve his education to benefit his patients. Due to past involvement and enjoyment in sports, Dr. Clare is a Board Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician. Additional areas of pursuit include continuing education in disc care and treatment, neuropathy, radiology, extremity care and management, physiotherapy, whiplash care and management and spinal rehabilitation.
Dr. Clare is involved in the community in a variety of efforts and organizations. As a community service, he freely offers lectures, presentations and workshops to businesses, schools and civic groups. He lectures on a variety of subjects including but not limited to: Back Lifting and Safety, Exercise for Success, Golfing Better with Less Pain, Ear Infections, Nutrition, Ergonomics, Stress and Pregnancy. ProHealth & Wellness originated with my desire to help others return to health through the wonders of the human body guided by chiropractic. As a doctor, I have seen many so-called miracle cases. It’s been an awesome experience assisting others while being a witness to their bodies return to health. I thank God for the opportunity to serve others in this capacity. Witnessing the following events, to name a few, have made a profound impact on our office and me personally:
- A 23-year-old brick mason crawling into the office under the aid of his 62-year-old father and his father’s cane. Two hours after entering the office, he walked out under his own power, standing upright without the assistance of either his father or the cane. He still had some discomfort and a slight limp, but with time and perseverance, that completely resolved.
- The women unable to sleep in her bed for twenty years without being propped up with pillows and lying in a single position to avoid excruciating lower back pain. After chiropractic care she looks forward to a good nights rest in whatever position she desires.
- The woman considered sterile and unable to conceive. After trying a multitude of techniques, drugs and therapies she had given up. After beginning chiropractic care for some lower back discomfort, she suddenly conceives nine months later gives birth to her first child. She is now the mother of four!
- The 31-year-old man who was burdened all of his life with migraine headaches. After undergoing a variety of medical procedures, prescription medications, spinal taps, CT scans, MRI’s, ambulance trips to the hospital, being injected with all sorts of drugs and chemicals, he finally takes a friend’s advice to try chiropractic. Before, he wasn’t able to hold down a steady job. The jobs he was forced to take were those he didn’t really want. After several months of care in our office, there were no more trips to the emergency room, no more painkillers or hiding in closets to avoid light. The headaches were gone. He was then able to go back to college and concentrate on studies, not headaches. Since then he has graduated and works doing the job of his dreams in the medical profession.
These are a few of the “miracles” that I have had the opportunity and privilege to assist in and witness. However, this didn’t occur without one very specific event from which all else followed.
One day a young man playing his senior year of high school football applied a “hit” to another player that left him with severe burning pain that coursed from his neck to his fingertips. He described the pain as 1000 knives cutting into the neck and down the entire left arm. Afterwards his arm would become completely numb and paralyzed. This occurred frequently throughout the course of practices and games. His mother took him to their family doctor who told him the season was over; take painkillers and “stay off your neck!” His coaches proceeded to take him to many different sports specialists, orthopedists, neurologists, etc. They even had special braces made to hold his neck in place while playing. None of this worked. The student decided that he would just have to play with the pain, or give up his dream of receiving a scholarship to play college football. Out of despair and love, his mother suggested that he consult her chiropractor. The chiropractor had helped her lower back, but she wasn’t sure if he could help his neck. This young student became a chiropractic patient despite the prejudices and negative comments made by his coaching staff. He also became another chiropractic miracle, finishing his senior year of football, receiving scholar athlete awards, being inducted into the High School Football Hall of Fame as well as receiving a college football scholarship. Due to his chiropractic care, he was able to fulfill his dreams of playing college football.
This patient’s life was completely changed by the care he received from a chiropractor. And without his success story, there may never have been any of the other true stories that you previously read. You see, that young high school football player was me, Dr. Timothy P. Clare! Due to the loving care and attention to my health, and the benefits that I received under chiropractic care; when it came for me to decide which medical profession I would pursue, I knew it had to be chiropractic. That is also the reason why I obtained my Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician degree.
